Santa Fe Institute

The Santa Fe Institute is one of the world's few research centers devoted to the study of complex adaptive systems. Founded in 1984, the SFI is a private research and education center that is highly interdisciplinary, providing an environment in which scientists from diverse backgrounds can learn from each other.
