Frog Logger

The Frog Logger is a bit of custom electronics brought to Las Cuevas by herpetologist Kris Kaiser. It is essentially a programmable recorder designed to record frog calls, along with the precise date and time they were made.

Part of Kris’s research deals with finding out whether the presence of a human listener affects the frog calls. She compares the calls she hears at a given site with those recorded in her absence by the Frog Logger.

(Notice the tampons? They act as desiccants, keeping moisture from damaging the electronics.)
