Researchers at the University
of Aberdeen in Scotland have taken the gene that makes some marine
life glow and inserted it into special bacteria. When those bugs are
feeding on good soil, they emit a happy glow. But when the earth under
them is a little toxic, the bacteria eventually go dark. Got a patch
