A team from the Exploratorium came to a wintry New York to capture
conversations and meaning during the Biology of DNA,a scientific
meeting held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Science is an
exceedingly social activityeverywhere we looked there
were people talking to each other about their current research,
about their memories of discoveries and meetings past, and about
the future. We wanted our on-line audience to eavesdrop not
only on the formal scientific talks streamed on the

            Cold Spring Harbor Web site

           but also on conversations that
happened during social times: coffee breaks, meals, and cocktail
hours. We had some extraordinary conversations ourselves with
the leaders in the fields of genetics and molecular biology,
                  including this
