Both scientific and artistic processes demand a constant flow of intellectual making and breaking : the fits and starts of taking new roads; the scrapping of old constructs; the willingness to go towards an unknown destination. Each requires curiosity, attention, and the ability to observe while while pursuing an idea.

Untitled No. 133 (2007) is a working metaphor for the evolution of concepts and the impermanence of thought. Without nails or adhesives, it will stand on the edge of falling, like an insight that must eventually give way to something new. This July, Aeneas will take several days to painstakingly assemble his sculpture. If it remains intact over summer, we plan to break Untitled No. 133 . At 4 p.m. on Labor Day, this representation of time and concentrated effort will crash to the floor, returned to its original state.
