Turing Tables: A national premiere by Franz John. Sound design by Ed Osborn

Co–produced with the Goethe-Institut of San Francisco

March 31–June 18, 2006 in the Seeing Gallery

Several million earthquakes of different intensities occur each year. Seismological institutes throughout the world measure their vibrations and communicate these data via automated Internet transfers. It is this meta-perception that Franz John makes visible in Turing Tables , siphoning the human-machine communication data stream directly from finger-servers and bringing it into this online exhibit.

Supported in part by a grant from Grants for the Arts/San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund.
